Company boosts education with innovative donations
This initiative is aligned with Air Products’ core values, emphasising the importance of technology and innovation in education.
Air Products Kempton Park in collaboration with their CSI called Witness Happiness, donated a range of educational tools to Urban Ruins Early Childhood Development (ECD) Centre on September 4.
Pregie Maistry, the CSI coordinator, said the initiative reflected the company’s commitment to supporting local communities and enhancing educational experiences for young learners.
“The donation included a tablet with preloaded educational games, videos, and augmented reality features.
“This innovative technology allows children to engage with books in an immersive way, bringing illustrations to life through sight, sound, and interactive elements.
“Such advancements in educational tools are pivotal, as they cater to diverse learning styles, making learning both fun and effective.”
Besides the tablet, Air Products contributed a selection of books and a projector, further enriching the educational resources available at the centre.
“The projector will aid visual learning, providing a dynamic way to present educational content.
“We chose Urban Ruins ECD Centre as part of their ongoing commitment to support early childhood development (ECD.
“We have been actively involved with the centre for three years, providing various educational tools such as reading books, flashcards, and charts.”

Maistry said the donation also included fertilisers and seeds, encouraging the children to spend time outdoors and learn about gardening.
“This aspect of our initiative aims to teach children how to grow their own vegetables, fostering a connection with nature and promoting healthy living.”
Clayton Viljoen of Urban Ruins ECD Centre expressed gratitude for the support, noting the donations will significantly benefit the centre and its children.
“This generous contribution will enhance our educational offerings and provide the children with valuable learning experiences. We appreciate Air Products Kempton Park’s continued support and dedication.”
