Lieutenant Colonel Bongani Dube, the station commander, expressed pride in these recognitions.

“We are so honoured to be recognised.”

Dube said that while the Reiger Park SAPS consistently performed well in the previous awards, this particular accolade reflects their ongoing commitment to improving safety and reducing crime in the community.

“The award shows that we are improving and reducing crime in our space, and we are delighted about that,” he added.

Dube said the Reiger Park SAPS had been proactive in its crime-fighting efforts, with a focus on tackling drug-related offences and drunk driving, significant contributors to local crime.

“Recent initiatives by the Crime Prevention Unit resulted in multiple arrests for various offences, showcasing our dedication to maintaining public safety.”

He highlighted the importance of community involvement in reporting suspicious activities, stating, “We cannot combat crime alone.

“We rely on the community’s support and co-operation to help us keep Reiger Park safe.”

Dube said the recognition celebrates the hard work of the police force and is a reassurance to residents that their safety is a priority.
