Volunteer and create positive change for seniors
Tshepo Ya Sechaba offers opportunities for seniors to engage in choir and sports activities.
Tshepo Ya Sechaba, an NPO based in Dawn Park, is calling on volunteers to join their ranks.
By joining the organisation, volunteers can help make a positive impact on the lives of elderly individuals in and around Dawn Park.
For those interested in joining or learning more about the organisation and its programmes, can contact Cynthia Nhlapho, founder of the organisation, on 082 427 3864.
The organisation, which focuses on providing activities and support for the elderly, is also seeking individuals aged 60 and above to participate in their programmes.
According to Nhlapho, the NPO offers a range of activities, including an elderly choir and sports tournament, specifically designed for seniors.
“We are excited to invite like-minded individuals to join our organisation,” said Nhlapho.
While the organisation’s primary focus is on seniors, Nhlapho noted that individuals under the age of 60 are also welcome to join.
However, they will not be eligible to participate in competitions specifically designed for the elderly.

Nhlapho went on to say that the organisation, which usually has a meeting every month, aims to raise awareness in communities about the social ills facing the elderly and to restore joy, dignity and fulfilment to the lives of such citizens.
“Older people should live in dignity and be able to live free from exploitation of physical or mental abuse.
“Elderly people have the right to participate in community organisations and be protected within their communities,” said Nhlapho.
She also encouraged the elderly to report any form of abuse to the police.
“Tshepo Ya Sechaba is committed to providing a supportive and engaging environment for seniors in the community.
