New leadership for St Anthony’s Education Centre
Over time, his role evolved significantly as he was nominated to add centre manager to his responsibilities.
David Prinsloo was appointed as the new centre manager for St Anthony’s Education Centre, marking a fresh chapter in the institution’s history.
He was appointed last November and started this year after the previous centre manager retired.
Prinsloo’s journey with St Anthony’s began in 2014 when he joined as operations and marketing manager.
Over time, his role evolved significantly as he was nominated to add the centre manager position to his responsibilities.
As he embarks on this new challenge, Prinsloo emphasises his commitment to leading by example and fostering inclusivity among staff members.
“Being a centre manager does not mean you have to lead with pride, but means you have to lead with example and respect.”
Prinsloo plans to hold this title with dignity by involving every staff member and including everyone’s input in decision making.

His approach underscores that effective leadership is not just about authority but collaboration and mutual respect.
However, Prinsloo highlighted one of the biggest challenges facing the centre is funding.
“We are an NPO and get a subsidy from the government, but it is not 100%. Infrastructure issues along with our ageing building are also major concerns for us.”
Despite these hurdles, plans are underway for expansion:
“We plan on expanding our offerings up to Grade Eight next year. Currently, they cater only for grades 10 to 12.”
With his vision for growth and community engagement, Prinsloo aims to steer St Anthony’s Education Centre towards greater heights while addressing its core challenges head-on.
His inclusive leadership style promises a brighter future for learners and staff at this educational institution.
As St Anthony’s looks forward under new management, there is optimism that these strategic moves will enhance its standing within the community while providing quality education across more age groups than ever before.
