
The Lotus Karate Club’s chief instructor, sensei Raveen Dayaram congratulated his students for their good showing at the WUKF Gauteng championships at the Brakpan Indoor Sports Centre on February 1.
The Parkrand-based club collected six medals in the competition. Trishul Dayaram grabbed a bronze in kumite while Precious Tshazi received a bronze in both kata and kumite.
Zaniqua Joyce added two more bronze medals in kata and kumite and Katlego Mapaya made it six with a bronze in kumite.
“It was another one of the hardest tournaments that they have competed in, and, as always, Lotus Karate Club Karateka have all competed so very valiantly, and God has also blessed them with six medals.
“A big congratulations to all our karateka who competed and all those who won medal winners. We have really learnt a lot from this tournament, and we will use everything that we learnt to make us even better karateka,” said Raveen.
