Community unites in support
Pink and black filled the trails as participants united to raise funds and awareness at the Sharney Blackway Cancer Hike.
The Sharney Blackway cancer hike and picnic fundraiser took place at Rietvlei Zoo Farm, drawing a vibrant crowd united in support of cancer patients and survivors on May 3.
According to Blackway, the event was celebrated as a powerful demonstration of community spirit and solidarity.
“Participants gathered early in the morning, many dressed in pink and black activewear, symbolising strength and hope. The day featured a scenic hike through the beautiful surroundings of Rietvlei, followed by a lively picnic where attendees could relax, connect and share stories of resilience.”
Adding to the energetic atmosphere, Impumelelo Fitness Club led cardio fitness sessions, encouraging everyone to get active for a meaningful cause.
“All proceeds were dedicated to pampering cancer patients, reflecting Blackway’s commitment to supporting those battling the disease.”
