The East Rand Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu (ERBJJ) Academy was alive with energy and pride recently as young martial artists took to the mats for the academy’s much-anticipated Kids Grading Event.
Hosted at the ERBJJ Academy, the event brought together students of all ages, parents, and coaches in a spirited celebration of growth.
Eager participants packed the mats, each showcasing the progress they had made in their BJJ journey.
Coach Brandon Newman, one of the leading mentors at ERBJJ, expressed his pride in the young athletes.

For many young athletes, the event was about being promoted to another belt, building confidence, making friends, and embracing the lifelong journey of martial arts.
With another successful grading behind them, ERBJJ continues to build on its mission of nurturing skilled martial artists and strong, respectful, and confident individuals.
Newman summed up the day: “We wrapped up the day by awarding well-deserved stripes and belt promotions, recognising the hard work, progress, and dedication our little athletes have shown this quarter.”
