Abselom Tete FC triumph after stunning 4-2 comeback

Young footballers lit up the pitch at Prince George Park as Abselom Tete FC overcame Benoni Northerns to claim the U8 Easterns Cup.

Abselom Tete FC clinched a 4–2 victory over Benoni Northerns in the U8 Easterns Local Football Association Cup held at Prince George Park on August 2.

The young stars from both teams delivered an action-packed final that kept supporters on the edge of their seats.
According to one of the coaches, Thato Masemola, Abselom Tete FC had to dig deep after falling behind early in the match.

“Benoni Northerns took the lead, but we equalised shortly afterwards with a stunning free kick from Lesedi Moeti. They then scored their second, and again we came back to make it 2–2; Lesedi found the net once more,” said Masemola.
With both teams locked in an intense battle, it was Lesedi who proved to be the game-changer. The talented young star continued his brilliant performance by netting two more goals in the second half, completing an incredible four-goal haul.

“Lesedi was phenomenal. He showed composure, strength, and a real eye for goal,” added Masemola.
The win marked a proud moment for Abselom Tete FC, who not only lifted the cup but did so in dramatic fashion, showcasing teamwork and resilience at grassroots level.
The coaching staff, players, and parents celebrated enthusiastically at the final whistle, recognising the team’s hard work and commitment throughout the season.
