Cardinals take first Ladies Plate Champs title
The Cardinals ladies’ team lifted the Plate trophy in a season of grit and glory.
The Boksburg Cardinals ladies’ team etched their names into history, claiming the club’s first Ladies Plate Championship title with a 12-1 win over the Valhalla Baseball Club in a memorable final at the Marks Park Sport Club, Emmarentia, on September 14.
According to coach Jamie Cooper, the season had its challenges, setbacks and emotional battles, yet the Cardinals stood tall through it all.
“With resilience, unity and an unshakable spirit, the squad overcame every hurdle on their journey to the championship stage.”
Cooper said the final was nothing short of spectacular.
“From the opening pitch, the Cardinals displayed skill and determination, keeping their composure and executing their game plan to perfection.
“Their offensive firepower and defensive grit left Valhalla with little room to recover, sealing a convincing and emotional victory.”
He said the team showed immense courage throughout the season.
“Each player pushed herself to the limit, and together, they found a sparkle within that carried them to this brilliant milestone. It has been an absolute pleasure to work with such a fantastic group of athletes and ladies.
“The triumph is more than just a championship; it’s a legacy for the club, their families and the community. As the first Ladies Plate Champions in the Boksburg Cardinals’ history, this achievement will be remembered for years to come.
“With pride, perseverance and passion, the Cardinals have proved what can be accomplished when a team believes in each other and never gives up. Well done, Cardinals.”
