Outreach makes a stop in Boksburg
The outreach brings essential services directly into the community through a coordinated platform designed to improve access, restore dignity and strengthen community wellbeing.
One Stop Community Care Outreach held a successful event in Boksburg on May 30, with at least 1 000 people attending to benefit from their many services at the corner of Main Reef Road and Clarendon Street.
The organisation’s Nomsa Mlenga explained that One Stop Community Care is part of Hope Restoration Ministries’ growing integrated outreach model, which has already served communities in Midrand, Diepsloot, Alexandra, Thembisa and Springs.
Their partners are the People Matter Foundation, Devoted Citizen and Runners of Hope.

“The outreach brings essential services directly into the community through a coordinated platform designed to improve access, restore dignity and strengthen community wellbeing.
“The services in Boksburg included the handing out of pre-loved clothing, free medical screening, free legal advice and a meal of soup and bread,” Nomsa said.
“At the heart of the initiative is a team of professionals offering their expertise free of charge – doctors, nurses, lawyers, therapists, counsellors and other specialists drawn from church and partner networks who provide screenings, consultations, treatment support where possible, practical guidance and referrals for further care.
“As access to specialist services remains beyond financial reach for many South Africans, One Stop Community Care seeks to respond directly to this challenge by bringing practical support closer to the people who need it.”

Runners of Hope, a wellness initiative promoting exercise, healthy lifestyles and community participation through running, connects people with local running clubs, educates them about the physical and mental health benefits of exercise and helps people explore opportunities to participate in major national races as part of wellness and charity initiatives.

Devoted Citizen supports voter registration awareness and civic education as South Africa prepares for local government elections.
Reverend Chris Mathebula, founder and senior leader of Hope Restoration Ministries, said the initiative reflects a practical response to the realities communities face daily.
“Many families are navigating economic pressure, untreated health concerns, emotional distress and limited access to professional support.
“Community outreach must respond to these realities in practical and meaningful ways.
“One Stop Community Care is about bringing services, support and hope closer to the people who need them most.”
Mathebula added that collaboration is central to sustainable impact.
“Communities are strengthened when professionals, civic organisations, volunteers and faith communities work together with shared purpose.
“This initiative reflects that commitment to practical partnership.”
