Celebrate four decades with a R40 donation

The home-based palliative care organisation aims to raise R400 000.

If you have R40 burning a hole in your pocket, you can buy a small packet of biltong or a month’s access to a mobile streaming service.
Or … you can make a lasting difference in the lives of those facing life changing or life threatening illness.

In celebration of East Rand Palliative Care’s (ERPC) 40th anniversary, the home-based care organisation is calling on the community assist in reaching its goal of raising R400 000, through its ‘R40 for 40 years’ campaign.

“Since 1986, ERPC, formerly known as Hospice East Rand, has been providing gentle care in homes, at bedsides, in conversations and in the moments that matter most,” said Jonquil Siepman, the organisation’s media liaison.

“What began with a small group of dedicated individuals, has grown into a community-based service that continues to ensure that no one faces serious illness alone.”

While R40 may seem small in comparison to four decades of unwavering service, the collective impact of mass contributions will ensure that essential palliative care services continue to reach patients as well as their families, who are in need of support and care as they navigate through the challenges of a life-limiting diagnosis.

“As a NPO, we rely on the ongoing support of the community to sustain our work.
“Care is something a community carries together and the campaign is an easy way to be part of ERPC’s work. Every contribution has the potential of aiding another.”
