Totalsports Women’s Race announces an increased prize purse
The prize purse has increased to R450 000, with each event boasting an equal prize purse of R150 000.

Women’s racing will once again take centre stage at South Africa’s premier Women’s Month celebration, the Totalsports Women’s Race, taking place on three consecutive Sundays in August.
Kicking off in Durban on August 2, followed by Cape Town on August 9, and culminating in Johannesburg on August 16, event organisers Stillwater Sports are excited to announce an increased combined prize purse of R450 000.
“The Totalsports Women’s Race has always been about celebrating, empowering and uplifting women through sport, and the announcement of an increased combined Prize Purse of R450 000 reinforces that commitment,” said Michael Meyer, Managing Director of Stillwater Sports.

“By rewarding excellence across all three events, we are not only recognising the dedication and hard work of elite athletes but also creating a platform that inspires women of all ages and abilities to be part of something truly special during Women’s Month.”
The combined purse will be divided equally across the three events, with each event receiving a prize purse of R150 000. Prize money will be awarded to the top 10 finishers in the Open Category, with the winner receiving R33 000, second place R22 000, and third place R16 500.
Additional prize money will go to the top three finishers in the Junior, 40–49, 50–59, 60–69, and 70+ categories.

“We are proud to continue investing in women’s racing and look forward to witnessing exceptional performances in Durban, Cape Town, and Johannesburg,” concluded Meyer.
Adding to this sentiment, Nikki Crous, Head of Marketing at Totalsports, reflected on the broader meaning of the prize purse and what it represents for every participant:
“The Totalsports Women’s Race is a celebration of every woman who shows up, challenges herself, and embraces the journey. While the prize purse rewards exceptional performances, it also shines a spotlight on the hard work, dedication, and passion that fuel every participant’s experience.
“We are incredibly proud to be part of an event that continues to inspire women and unite communities through the power of running.”
