Police arrested a man in connection with the rape of his stepdaughter, of about 12 years old, on August 24.
According to Boksburg North SAPS station commander Colonel Mack Mngomezulu, a teacher noticed something was amiss with the learner and her mother was called to the school.
“This is when the learner said she was raped and police were alerted. The stepfather was with the mother at the school and he was immediately arrested,” said Mngomezulu, who could not divulge more information at this stage.
Police are also investigating a case of rape after a woman was reportedly raped at a tavern in First Street, Boksburg North, in the early hours of August 26.
Mngomezulu said police were told the woman was raped in the bathroom.
Investigations are underway.
