City sets new dates for public comments on IPP
The city plans to appoint multiple IPPs for various electricity generation technologies to a capacity of 1 500MW.

The City of Ekurhuleni has set new dates for communities to provide their input following the postponement of the initial March public meetings for comments on the appointment of Independent Power Producers (IPPs).
The meetings are rescheduled to sit on the following dates in the different regions:
• Southern region – Alberton, Germiston and Boksburg: Palm Ridge Hall on April 30 from 10:00 to 12:00.
• Eastern region – Springs, Nigel, Benoni, Brakpan: Faranani Multi-purpose Hall on May 6, from 10:00 to 12:00.
• Northern region: Edenvale, Bedfordview, Kempton Park and Thembisa: Rabasotho Hall in Thembisa on April 29, from 10:00 to 12:00.
The city is yet again calling on members of the public to provide their comments on IPPs.
The city plans to appoint multiple IPPs for various electricity generation technologies to a capacity of 1 500MW. The appointed IPPs receive 20-year contracts.
Alternatively, the community and interested parties may submit comments or representations to the municipality regarding the proposed contract to April.dlamini@ekurhuleni.gov.za and Jabulile.kgomo@ekurhuleni.gov.za
