Bowlers add to their silverware
BBC will be participating in another competition that starts this upcoming weekend.
Boksburg Bowling Club (BBC) added another trophy to its name by beating Brackenhurst Sports Club side 1 by 19-13 in the midweek league final match at the Benoni Town Bowling Club, on March 22.
BBC beat Brackenhurst side 2 in the semi-finals to reach the finals.The following players represented the BBC in the midweek league: Johnny Mellitchy, Allan Elson, Grant Sloane and Ronnie de Roche.
The final match began with BBC leading with points, but Brackenhurst returned to give BBC a challenge.
Benoni Town Bowling Club was eliminated in the semi-finals by the Brackenhurst side 1.
BBC bowler Alan Elson said he is ecstatic about how well his team played.
“We are proud to have done well in all the competitions this year. The team performance was great,” he said.
The president of BBC, Ian Croasdale, is also very proud. “This is another accolade for Boksburg. We had a good year,” he said.
BBC will play in the district competition EKB 4s playing three games on March 26 at Northmead Bowling Club.
