Your wool donations make a difference

Community members are urged to still contribute to our wool drive.

The Boksburg Advertiser’s Winter Wool project has proven to be a roaring success again this year, with donations of wool and beautiful knitted items streaming in.

We recently handed over a donation of items, including booties, beanies, baby jerseys, teddy bears and toys, to Solidariteit Helpende Hand Boksburg Oasis branch and Tambo Babies Boksburg.

Naomi Grundlingh, chairperson of the local Helpende Hand branch, expressed her gratitude towards the community and the Advertiser.

“We’re extremely thankful for this donation as it will help a lot of people. It’s one thing to be hungry, but to be cold and hungry is even worse,” said Grundlingh.

Tina Moolan also thanked the community for opening their hearts to assist those in need.

Community members are still welcome to contribute to the project.

Donations of wool will help various local groups who knit teddies and other items for distribution to the Cancer Association of SA and organisations that look after the underprivileged, especially in winter.

All qualities, quantities and textures are welcome. Knitted items such as beanies, scarves and blankets will also be appreciated.

Project coordinator Elize Kluyts urged community members to open their hearts and knit to help keep the needy warm. Drop your donations of wool off at the following points in Boksburg:
