High-density operation leads to multiple arrests in Reiger Park

Reiger Park police station commander Lieutenant Colonel Bongani Dube led a high-density operation that resulted in several arrests for the sale of counterfeit goods and illegal liquor trade on July 29.

The day began with a parade at the Boksburg Magistrate’s Court, where Lieutenant Colonel Dube addressed the assembled officers.

Spokesperson for the station, Constable Johannes Msimanga,b said the operation yielded positive results, with five suspects arrested for selling counterfeit cigarettes and two for dealing in liquor without the necessary licence.

“These arrests highlight the ongoing challenges faced by law enforcement in combating the sale of illicit goods, which undermine public safety and economic integrity.

“Reiger Park has been a hotspot for various criminal activities, and operations like this are essential for restoring law and order.”

He emphasised the importance of community support in these efforts, noting that collaboration between law enforcement and residents is vital for effective policing.

“The operation is part of a broader strategy that Dube has implemented since taking command in late 2023.

He has prioritized addressing major crimes in the area, including drug dealing, illegal shebeens, and cable theft.

“We are taking a ‘no-nonsense’ stance on these crimes. Our goal is to make Reiger Park a safer place for everyone.”
