Power outage affecting several Boksburg suburbs
Nkosi noted that there is no Estimated Restoration Time (ERT) available at this stage but assured that another update would be provided soon.
Several areas in Boksburg, including Unilever Khanyisa, Boksburg North, Ravenswood, parts of Jansen Park, Eveleigh, and parts of Beyers Park, are currently experiencing power outages due to a transformer failure.
Nombuso Nkosi, the media officer for the City of Ekurhuleni, confirmed the situation. “We have just lost a transformer and will try to accelerate the restoration.
“A team is on-site and a contractor will investigate and conduct necessary repairs.
“The preliminary investigation suggests that the transformer failure is the main cause of the outages affecting these neighbourhoods.”
