SPCA needs you to bring cheer

The society appeals to the community to support the initiative.

The Boksburg SPCA’s Christmas Cheer Fund, which started on November 1 and runs until the end of the first week of January, is off to a slow start.

Again this year, the SPCA hopes to raise R100 000 to care for the animals over the festive season when its kennels are overwhelmed and undertake projects.

Last year, the society exceeded the R100 000 mark by R44 653, thanks to the community’s support.

These donations helped the SPCA sterilise animals and do a kennel re-roofing project, among other initiatives.

This year’s projects include spay cradles and a theatre light for the clinic, dry and wet cat and dog food, cat carriers, cat traps, dog crates, collars, leashes and medical supplies.

SPCA manager Vicky Finnemore encouraged the community to open their hearts to the project.

“We have not received any donations for the Christmas Cheer Fund yet. Any support would be appreciated, and no donation is too small,” she said.

The society urges residents and its followers on social media to donate R75 to celebrate the Boksburg SPCA’s 75th birthday in February.

To donate, visit the society on Railway Street or deposit your donation into their bank account:
