Trauma counsellor’s wheels need some TLC – can you help?

Your generosity can ensure TSSA continues to be a beacon of hope to those in need.

As a survivor of abuse, CEO and founder of Benoni-based Trauma Support South Africa (TSSA) Philip Stoneman, has dedicated his life to giving support to those in crisis.

Providing trauma support to victims of abuse and crime, as well as offering training to those wanting to become trauma-wise, Stoneman and his team have played an integral role in equipping members of the community with the tools to identify, process and overcome trauma.

Given the high incidence of crime, the TSSA team are constantly on the move, travelling to anyone in need of their support.

Stoneman’s invaluable support has, however, ‘blown a gasket’, which is hampering his ability to reach members of the community in time.

“My vehicle is a crucial part of the services we provide at TSSA. It may not be the latest spunky model on the road, but it allows me to reach those in need of essential support and trauma care,” he said.

“Given its age, my Nissan Tida 1.6 needs significant repairs of which the costs are beyond my and the organisation’s budget.”

To keep this trauma support warrior’s wheels turning, TSSA is appealing to the community for support to cover the quoted R15 000 cost of repairs.

Big or small, each contribution will go a long way in putting the spark back into the sparkplugs.

For more information or to assist, contact Stoneman on 067 058 5024. Alternatively, email him at philip@communitychaplain.co.za.
