SPCA receives welcome Cheer Fund donations
Community members can support the fund until the end of the first week of January.
The Boksburg SPCA’s Christmas Cheer Fund has gained momentum and raised about R3 900 so far.
Again, the SPCA hopes to raise R100 000 to care for its animals over the festive season, when its kennels are overwhelmed, and to do various projects.
This year’s projects include spay cradles, a clinic theatre light, dry and wet cat and dog food, cat carriers and traps, dog crates, collars, leashes and medical supplies.
Community members are encouraged to support the initiative. No donation is too small.
The society urges residents and its followers on social media to donate R75 to celebrate its 75th birthday in February.
Last year, the society exceeded the R100 000 target by R44 653, which helped it sterilise animals and complete a kennel re-roofing project, among other initiatives.
