Donation hits SPCA’s sweet spot

The community come in numbers to support the pet food drive.

Sweet Deal Properties recently held a pet food collection drive on the corner of North Rand and Bartlett roads in aid of the Boksburg SPCA.

Event organiser Candice Barnard said the response was overwhelming and they were delighted by the public’s generosity.

They collected 410kg of dry food, 106 cans of pet food, R1 600 in cash donations, blankets, various clothing and other items for the SPCA’s charity shop.

Barnard thanked their sponsors, including Hammond Pole and Razak attorneys, OBA Originators, Heckers Nursery, Nelsons & Sons Liquor Store, LooksWithin Beauty by Noms, and Tuckers Inc.

“We wanted to collect as much food as possible because the SPCA is always in need, particularly at this time of year,” said Barnard.
