Take note of temporary changes at Tambo Memorial Hospital

While the changes may impact waiting times, proactive steps will be taken to minimise disruptions.

Tambo Memorial Hospital management has announced that a few changes will be temporarily implemented to make room for the renovation of a section of the hospital.

Work to repair the hospital’s main passage connecting the medical outpatients department to Ward 2 commenced on January 20. This refurbishment project is to be completed over 15 days.

During this period, patients seeking dental care are advised to visit their local clinics as dental services will not be available at the hospital until the completion of the project. Additionally, the pharmacy and laboratory lifts will serve as the primary access points for transporting patients.

The hospital stated that while the repairs may impact waiting times, especially in the outpatient departments, proactive steps will be taken to minimise disruptions as much as possible.

“These repairs are designed to enhance the safety of both patients and staff and facilitate the smooth movement of wheelchairs, beds and patients while improving the overall infrastructure of the facility,” explained the hospital spokesperson, Zoliswa Nzeku.
She added that the hospital remains dedicated to delivering quality healthcare services and will ensure that the community is regularly updated about the services.
