Winter Knights project going strong
Round Table Boksburg 17 hosted a R2 drive at the El Ridge Corner as part of its Winter Knights campaign, collecting food and winter essentials to support those in need during the cold months.

As winter tightens its grip, Round Table Boksburg 17 continues to make an impact through the ongoing Winter Knights Project, a national initiative by Round Table South Africa.
On June 8, the Table hosted an R2 drive at the El Ridge Corner shopping centre in Bartlett. Thanks to the generosity of shoppers and others, they collected almost R12 000 worth of non-perishable food and 40 donated beanies.
“We are incredibly grateful for the support. Every donated item helps us extend our reach and bring comfort to those struggling,” said Cuan Maizey, treasurer of Round Table Boksburg 17.
How you can help
Round Table Boksburg 17 continues to collect warm clothing, blankets, beanies, scarves and non-perishable food throughout winter. Every donation counts.
“Every donation, no matter how small, makes a difference. Together, we can warm hearts and homes across our community,” Maizey added.
Businesses or individuals who want to contribute can call Walter van Rooyen on 082 495 1562.

Warm Fees
Next on the calendar is Warm Fees on July 19 at The Wahoo Bar at the Benoni Baseball Club, featuring Martin Bester and his band. The live entertainment is free, but entry requires a blanket donation.
About Winter Knights
The Winter Knights Project began in 2010, inspired by a powerful gesture in Scottburgh, where Round Table members spent a winter night in light clothing to raise awareness of the suffering many endure during the cold season.
Since then, it has grown into a national movement. Tables across SA organise drives, fundraisers and donation campaigns. Through R2 and R5 collections, door-to-door visits and corporate partnerships, Winter Knights supports thousands of people each year.
