Community unites to support Mercy Haven

The vibrant community event raised vital funds for the Mercy Haven.

In honour of Women’s Day, Astron Energy Sunward Park and FreshStop, in partnership with SA Jump-Aholics, recently celebrated community, connection and compassion.

During the event, the forecourt of Astron Energy came alive with music, movement and the sounds of joy, as locals gathered to support the Mercy Haven, a shelter in Boksburg that helps women and children affected by GBV.

From the early hours of the morning, pop-up vendors lined the area, offering a variety of goods and treats to attendees. SA Jump-Aholics further fueled the lively atmosphere with their energetic activity sessions. Children had their faces painted, the bright colours adding to the festive mood.

The day’s warmth and togetherness were complemented by the delightful Ouma Bets’ yummy cookies, each one baked with flavour and a sprinkle of love.

Adding to the excitement was a raffle fundraiser with prizes. Thanks to the enthusiastic support from the public, a large amount was raised for Mercy Haven to support their vital work.

According to one of the event organisers, Naeema Ismail, the event was a success.

“What an unforgettable day; overflowing with love, laughter and the spirit of unity. Our community came together beautifully, reminding us of the magic that happens when hearts join for a cause.”
