#CameraClub: Mosque shot shimmers in the limelight

Get to know Vivienne

How long have you been a member of the club? About 12 years.
Skill level? Senior, but still learning daily.
Where did you take the image? At the Ortokoy Mosque in Istanbul, Türkiye.
What inspired the image? I had the opportunity to travel to Istanbul with a group of fellow photographers. We had risen at 04:00 to be in position for the early morning “blue hour’ just before sunrise. Using a slow shutter speed ensures you get a deep saturation of colours in your image.
What time did you take it? Around 06.00.
Camera settings? F11, a slow shutter speed of about three seconds.
Why do you enjoy being a club member? It pushes me to try new genres of photography and encourages technical excellence.
What do you most enjoy about photography and why? Photography is a fun and creative hobby, with a vast array of genres to always challenge you. The best part is spending time with other people keen to see the world and capture new experiences.
