St Dominic’s Catholic School majorettes celebrate championship season and announce new leaders
With a new season on the horizon and fresh leadership in place, the St Dominic’s majorette squads are ready to march into 2026 with pride, precision, and passion.
St Dominic’s Catholic School recently celebrated a stellar 2025 season at their annual majorette social and awards evening, where both the primary and high school squads were honoured for their exceptional performances.
The senior team, known as The Saints, and the junior team, The Saintees, proudly took home the titles of South African champions at the SAMCA Nationals held in Oudtshoorn earlier this year, a crowning achievement for a year filled with discipline, determination and dazzling displays.
The evening, held with a fun disco-themed flair, also marked the highly anticipated announcement of the 2026 team leaders. These positions were earned after a rigorous trial process, which included practical demonstrations and in-depth interviews.
The leaders of the 2026 senior school majorettes (The Saints) are: Lené Ackermann (leader), Reneilwe Moremi (head subbie), Nompumelelo Zungu (head rifle), and Nyenge Mudau and Naledi Chesa (head flags).
