Blood Brothers roar into Samaritaanhuis with gifts of joy
The Blood Brothers also donated clothing, stationery and groceries
The roar of motorcycle engines brought excitement and smiles to Sky Street on July 5 when the Boksburg-based Blood Brothers Motorcycle Club visited Samaritaanhuis NPO, proving that behind the leather jackets and powerful bikes are hearts dedicated to serving the community.
The club spent the morning with the children and families supported by Samaritaanhuis, delivering a generous donation of clothing, groceries, household essentials and stationery before treating the children to motorcycle rides and handing out sweet packs.

According to Blood Brothers national president Herman ‘Harry’ van Wyk, the visit was planned weeks in advance after the club reached out to Samaritaanhuis manager Marie Russell to determine the organisation’s greatest needs.
“We wanted to make sure we donated what was needed most. Marie and Dwaine shared a list of essential items, particularly stationery for the 24 younger children attending the preschool.

“Our members pulled together and were able to provide almost everything on that list. Seeing the smiles on the children’s faces made every bit of the effort worthwhile, and that’s what it’s all about,” said Van Wyk.

The donations also benefited Samaritaanhuis Wee’Ones Preschool, where learners received clothing, stationery and groceries to support their learning and daily needs.
For many of the children, the highlight of the day was the opportunity to enjoy motorcycle rides while the bikers entertained the community with the sound of revving engines.
Families living in Sky Street also received small grocery parcels, ensuring the club’s generosity extended beyond the organisation’s gates.

Russell said the visit meant far more than receiving donations.
“The Blood Brothers did far more than bring donations. They brought joy, laughter and a sense of belonging to our children. Their kindness and generosity have made a real difference, and we are incredibly grateful for the time they spent with us and for answering our call for help.”
