Tragic end to search for missing Witfield woman

Boksburg North police have confirmed the tragic discovery of a 57-year-old woman who had been reported missing from her Witfield home nearly a month ago.
Hermina Christina ‘Ina’ Tellis, who was last seen on March 10, was found dead at Witfield Dam on April 9.
Her disappearance had prompted an extensive search effort following appeals for assistance from both her family and Missing Persons South Africa.
According to a flyer circulated on Missing Persons South Africa’s Facebook page, Tellis was last seen leaving her home on foot. Concern grew as days passed without any contact, leading her family to open a missing persons case at the Boksburg North Police Station.
The search ultimately came to a grim conclusion with the discovery of her body.
Police have confirmed the finding but have not yet released details regarding the circumstances surrounding her disappearance or the condition in which she was found.

The family of the deceased has since indicated that, despite police initially linking the body found at Witfield Dam to their loved one, they have requested formal forensic processes to confirm the identity.

According to police, the initial information shared with this publication was based on preliminary identification linked to the missing person description provided to investigators.
