#WinterWoolDrive: Bring us your knitting needles, crochet hooks

No donation will go to waste as eager knitting circles and individuals are twitching to get knitting and crocheting.

If you’re doing a garage or cupboard clean, don’t throw the wool and knitting needles out!

Boksburg Advertiser’s Winter Wool Drive needs wool – and lots of it; every size and colour – to spread warmth across the city as the temperatures plummet.

We are in our sixth year of this initiative, and it has grown year on year at a rapid pace, thanks to the support of residents, young and old, who either knit for us with the wool donations we get, or simply arrive at our office with generous donations of their creations – beanies, baby jackets, booties, blankets, scarves and toys.

No donation will go to waste as eager knitting circles and individuals are twitching to get knitting and crocheting.

NPOs serving babies, children, youth, and the elderly in our community, as well as organisations like CANSA, benefit from the Winter Wool Drive.

If you can donate wool, knitting needles, crochet hooks, knitting patterns or already-knitted or crocheted items, our eager open arms are waiting for you!

Donations can be dropped off at the following locations:
• Boksburg Advertiser offices, 20 Sydney Road, Ravenswood
• Med-Leigh Pharmacy, The Square Shopping Centre, Rietfontein Road
• Vellie Boutique, corner of 6th Street and Rietfontein Road
• Eyeland Optometrist, Shop 17E, East Rand Mall
• Parkrand Slaghuis, Trichardts Road and Kirsch Street
• Heckers Garden Centre, North Rand Road

Contact Elize Kluyts at elizek@caxton.co.za for more information on how you can be part of this initiative.
