Police, SPCA probe actor Mondli Thusi pitbull attack in Boksburg North

The Boksburg SPCA confirmed that it was alerted to the incident shortly after it happened and that officials are dealing with the matter.

The police and Boksburg SPCA are investigating an incident in which actor Mondli Thusi was allegedly attacked by two pitbulls in Boksburg North.

The incident, which reportedly recently occurred outside Thusi’s home, left the Generations: The Legacy actor seriously injured and in need of hospital treatment for dog bite wounds.
The matter was reported to the Boksburg North Police Station, where detectives have since opened investigations into the circumstances surrounding the attack.

While police did not immediately provide full details surrounding the incident, Gauteng police spokesperson Colonel Noxolo Kweza confirmed to this publication that a case is under investigation.

“I can confirm that we are investigating a case of keeping a ferocious dog following an incident where a man was attacked and bitten by dogs,” said Kweza.

Meanwhile, the Boksburg SPCA confirmed that it was alerted to the incident shortly after it happened and that officials are dealing with the matter. The organisation, however, said further details would be shared at a later stage.

It is understood that a person believed to be the owner of one of the dogs handed himself over to authorities and was taken to court on Monday. However, according to records seen by this publication, the matter was not placed on the court roll, as investigations continue.

Authorities are also still trying to establish ownership of the second dog involved in the attack.
At this stage, two separate cases have reportedly been registered, with investigations continuing.
