Police have arrested two suspects in connection with a stolen vehicle and the discovery of a police uniform in Dawn Park.

According to the Dawn Park SAPS spokesperson, Sergeant Nkemeleng Mabula, on August 7, police, acting on information received, went to an address on Porsche Street, where they found a white Chery Tiggo Hybrid that had been reported stolen.

“While inspecting the vehicle, members noticed that the licence disc did not match the vehicle registration number. The vehicle was circulated and confirmed as reported stolen at Springs SAPS.

“Thereafter, officers discovered a Gauteng Traffic police uniform, which the two occupants said belonged to their sister who lives in the Eastern Cape,” explained Mabula.

The pair, aged between 19 and 23, were arrested in connection with possession of the stolen motor vehicle and the police uniform.

The suspects are expected to appear before the Boksburg Magistrate’s Court soon.

Investigation continues.
