We pay for a useless postal service

Henry Howell, of Libradene, writes:

As a taxpayer of Boksburg I wish to object that taxpayers’ money for postal deliveries of our monthly water, rates and taxes accounts are paid by Ekurhuleni Metro to the post office – which always delivers the post well past the dates applicable.

In my case, mostly at least a month after the date on which I have to pay.

If it had not been for email facilities, my accounts would go astray, and I am sure people without email have to go to the trouble of collecting their accounts at the municipal offices.

Delivery by the post office is therefore a useless waste of our money, as the information which they deliver is always late.
