Local baseball club back at training
The local baseball club will practice under strict Covid-19 protocols.
Local baseball club Boksburg Cardinals have been given the go-ahead to return to the field for training after baseball was suspended a few months ago due to Covid-19.
According to the baseball club president Gavin Bennett, the South African Baseball Union and the Gauteng Province Baseball Council permitted them to practice.
“We can’t wait to return to the field for training. Now we’re just waiting to hear when the league is going to start again,” said Bennett.
He explained the club players will now practice at the club, situated at the Boksburg Stadium, on Friday evenings.
“The club will practice under strict Covid-19 protocols to curb the spread of the virus,” he pointed out.
Furthermore, he invited community members between the ages of five and 18 to join its club.
“Let your son or daughter play this great game of baseball. Playing baseball builds strength in your arms and legs, improves your cardiovascular health and it boosts your hand-eye coordination. Baseball is even good for your mind,” he said.
