The progress of some of the younger karateka was also celebrated during the Goju Karate Academy’s prize-giving. Award recipients are Taelo Watkins (best male dinky kata), Thandazo Mthimunye (best female dinky kata), Ulrich Viljoen (best male dinky kumite) and Skyla Bouwer (best female dinky kumite).
Last year was a wildly successful year for Goju Karate Academy, in Parkrand. Athletes from the club participated in 10 local tournaments and one international tournament, winning a total of 547 medals, throughout the year.
