Reflecting on his experience during the grading process, Nienaber said he was exhausted during the Vasbyt event but was determined to push through.
“Earning Junior Shodan felt incredible. Years of hard work finally paid off. The journey has not only been about physical endurance but also mental resilience, embodying the spirit of perseverance that karate demands.”
As a newly minted junior black belt, Nienaber anticipates facing several challenges in his ongoing training at The Dojo NWS Atlasville.
“I will need to refine my skills, build endurance and set an example for others while constantly improving,” he stated.
Training under sensei Takis Chaniotakos has profoundly shaped Nienaber’s approach to both karate and personal development. He credits his sensei with instilling values of discipline, perseverance and attention to detail.
“His guidance has not only improved my karate but also shaped my mindset in everyday life,” he remarked.
Nienaber said he is eager to contribute to The Dojo NWS community as a junior black belt holder.
“I want to help by guiding lower belts, sharing what I have learned and setting a strong example,” he expressed.
The motivation driving Nienaber’s continued journey in karate stems from his love for the sport and the influence of role models like Sensei Takis.
“I am motivated by the challenge of always improving and inspired by role models like sensei Takis. This passion fuels my dedication to both training and personal growth,” he noted.
Nienaber highlighted that his karate journey began with encouragement from his parents. Now, as he stands proudly as a junior black belt, he embodies the values and skills that martial arts instil in young practitioners.
