Boksburg Aquatic Saints Swimming and Lifesaving Club makes a big splash
As the season unfolds, the Boksburg Aquatic Saints are proving that dedication, community support, and strong leadership are a winning combination.
The Boksburg Aquatic Saints Swimming and Lifesaving Club has made an impressive splash this winter season, with a new coach at the helm and a haul of medals to match.
Coach Robert le Roux joined the club at the start of the season.
Training quickly kicked into gear, with swimmers committing to a demanding six-day-a-week schedule through the chilly winter months.
While the club’s usual winter training facility at St Dominic’s was temporarily closed, the team was fortunate to train alongside Angela Murphy at the Virgin Active K90.
The club participated in the EGA Winter Series, including the Winter 1, 2, and 3 Galas, all hosted at St Benedict’s College in Bedfordview, culminating in a strong performance at the Junior and Senior Winter Championships.

The results spoke for themselves: the Boksburg Aquatic Saints returned home with 10 gold, 22 silver, and 13 bronze medals. This is a testament to their commitment, determination, and team spirit.
Le Roux said he is proud and grateful to be the new coach and thanked previous coaches for passing on a well-trained squad.
“I will do my best to continue your good work and grow from here. The success of the galas was not only measured in PBs and medals but in the camaraderie, resilience and unity of the team and parents.
“To the swimmers, we’ve had our moments of celebration, but the hard work continues. There are many more PBs and victories ahead. If this is what we can achieve early in the season, I have no doubt we’re building toward something truly special.”
