National senior women’s championships: Day one results
Entrance is free and the public is welcome to come and enjoy the action. The competition will conclude tomorrow with the final prize-giving at 15:30 at Benoni Country Club.
The competition began yesterday with a four-ball alliance competition at Benoni Country Club and Ebotse Links.
The results are as follows:
Benoni Country Club
1. Carol Allers, Marianda de Villiers, Atri Wilson and Janice Brownlee 85 points
2. Jane Hall (KZN), Christa Prinsloo, Lee Ann Lee and Sally de Meyer 85 points (counted out)
3. Gwen Rothman, Noreen Hughes, Sharon Bower and Suzette Ruthven 83 points
Ebotse Links
1. Shirley Pressley, Lorraine Cross, Janet Hayes and Lynne Garbutt 84 points
2. Dot Wilson, Debbie Jenkins, Jennifer Damman and Marietjie Visser 82 points
3. Melinda Miekle, Linda Place, Karin Schroder and Margot Prosser 80 points (counted in)
The national championships teed-off this morning (07:30) with half of the ladies at Ebotse Links and the other half at Benoni Country Club. After the conclusion of their rounds the players will then change courses.
The competition will conclude tomorrow with the final prize-giving at 15:30 at Benoni Country Club.
