DVD review: Star Trek 2 – Into The Darkness

Star Trek 2: Into the Darkness is another one of those films that jumps right into the action, right off the bat.

The plot of Into Darkness takes place one year after the previous instalment.

The opening scene is definitely an exciting stealer, other than the rest of the film, with extremely vibrant colours of planet Nibiru, decorated with beautiful yellow trees and red plants and the humans occupying the planet similarly dressed. Purely spectacular.

It sets the film up for high expectations, and definitely delivers to a certain level – it has the jokes, the bad guys and the eye-popping moments.

The main plot line then sends Captain Kirk and the crew of the USS Enterprise on a mission to the Klingon home world, seeking former Starfleet member-turned-terrorist John Harrison.

This sparks a series of interesting events, and ultimately sets up the scene for the next instalment, called Klingons, which is set to release in 2015.

Rating: 3.5/5.
