Miss Deaf SA’s Second Princess is proud of herself

The 2022 Miss Deaf Second Princess is determined win the next contest.

Sylvia Mojanko (42) from Klippoortjie was crowned as the 2022 Miss Deaf South Africa’s second princess on September 3.

She said it was a very special moment for her to be crowned and hopes her achievement will inspire her children.

“I wanted to win the competition, but being named the second princess is as good as winning because it proves I’m capable and talented.

“Taking part in the competition, I learned that everyone has a talent in life and that people can achieve their goals if they pursue them and don’t give up,” she said.

“The saying ‘patience is a virtue’ is not something I understood, but I understand the meaning of it now, as I have experienced this.

“My plan for the future is to follow my other dreams. I want to show my children that dreams can be achieved and that they should chase their own dreams. Through achieving my goals, I will impart confidence in my children. Every mother only wants the best for her children.

“I will compete in the upcoming Miss Deaf South Africa contests because I believe in myself. I think I have what it takes to get the first crown and be the queen.”

Sylvia plans to compete in further Miss Deaf SA pageants and will continue to create awareness about deaf people.

“Deaf people are special and can achieve anything in life, as I intend to show people through awareness campaigns,” she said.

“I would like to thank all the people that supported and voted for me. It was thanks to this support that I was crowned the second princess. May God be with you all in your endeavours.”
