A man was kidnapped and robbed of his vehicle by armed hijackers on the evening of August 24, after he was confronted outside an address along Germains Avenue.

Police information reveals the victim parked his white Chevrolet bakkie at an address along this street at about 20:44.

He was visiting his brother, who arrived and sat in the passenger seat. The siblings were chatting when a white Nissan NP200 parked behind the victim’s vehicle.

Two men, both armed with guns, climbed out of the Nissan and approached the victim, pointing the firearms at him.

They forced him out of his vehicle, leaving his brother inside.

The gunmen instructed the victim to get into their vehicle and tied his hands with wires before driving off with him.

He was later dropped off in Selcourt, Springs.

No further details were provided regarding the victim’s brother or the bakkie. A case of kidnapping and hijacking was opened at Brakpan SAPS.
