Dust off those walking shoes

Mall@Carnival will host a fun walk in aid of charity on Sunday, November 10.

The mall has urged all residents, schools, churches and local organisations to participate in the “Walk the Carnival” campaign, which is in aid of Oliver’s House.

Participants can take part in either the 8km walk or 4km walk and there will be great giveaways and prizes to be won.

The starting point for both distances is at the mall, which is situated at the corner of Airport Drive and Heidelberg Road, in Dalpark.

The 4km route will move along Rangeview Road, Wordsworth Street , Lawrence Street, Louw Street, Airport Drive and back to the mall.

The 8km walk will take the same route, but will detour along Etosha Avenue from Airport Drive.

From there it will move along Augrabies Avenue, Umkomaas Street, Katdoring Street, Torchwood Street, Raas Street, Saffron Street, back into Etosha Avenue, Airport Drive and then back to the mall.

There will be prizes for the first three men and women over the finishing line, as well as for the most outrageous outfit.

The day promises to be fun for the whole family and participants are encouraged to bring their children along (prams are allowed) and even their dogs.

Dogs without leashes, however, will not be permitted.

The closing date for entries is Monday, November 4, and online pre-entries will qualify for a free goodie bag.

Race packs can be collected from the mall on Saturday, November 9, between 11am and 4pm.
