The event, which is in aid of several SPCAs on the East Rand, is aimed at raising much needed funds, as well as to collect dog food, blankets, collars and leads.

The walk will take place at the Boksburg Stadium, along Jubilee Road in Boksburg, on Saturday, April 5.

Gates open at 4pm and the afternoon promises to be lots of fun.

There will be boerewors rolls, salads and cold drinks on sale, as well as ‘foodie bags’ for canine companions.

The following rules apply:
* no dogs on heat or puppies under three months of age will be permitted
* vaccinations must be up to date and shown on request
* all dogs must be on suitable leads
* no aggressive, sick or injured dogs will be permitted

In addition, all entrants stand the chance of winning a great mystery prize.
