Reynolds Race kicks off

Entries for the Caxton Reynolds Race 2014 have finally closed and the eight teams who will represent the various towns have been chosen.

The race will kick off  today (June 7), at Hirsch’s Boksburg.

The Reynolds Race is based on “The Amazing Race”, and will require participating teams to complete various tasks across the East Rand.

A point system will be used to monitor the teams’ performances.

The first team to finish a task within the given time walks away with bragging rights and top points, that will be added to their overall score card.

The three teams with the most points by the end of the seventh week will all go into the finals, that will be held in Springs, on August 2.

The winners of this year’s race will receive an all-expenses paid trip to Zanzibar, courtesy of the SA Reynolds Travel Centre.

There will also be a reader’s competition, which will kick off soon, so don’t waste any time in getting to know the East Rand, as there are wonderful prizes up for grabs for those who wish to get a piece of the action.

Meet the teams:

Nathan Sikosana and Karabo Masenya will represent Brakpan.

Jenny Basson and Esté Reynecke will represent Springs.

Johan Ferreira and Sophia Viljoen will represent Kempton Park and Tembisa.

Liza and Petrus Smith will represent Boksburg.

Laurie van Zyl and Ilse de Beer will represent Benoni

Cheryl and Sean Wheavn will represent Germiston.

Louise Brown and Cameron McLeod will represent Bedfordview and Joburg East.

Prema and Dheshan Naran will represent Alberton.
