Three other people were injured in the crash, including the woman’s adult daughter.

The accident took place at about 1pm, at the Heidelberg Road (R23) and Elsburg Road (R554) intersection.

According to an emergency services worker, who may not be named, two vehicles were involved in the accident — a light motor vehicle and a security vehicle.

The daughter was taken to the Netcare Sunward Park Hospital, and the two occupants of the security vehicle were taken to the Netcare N17 Hospital.

The severity of their injuries, as well as the cause of the accident, is not known.
