Robber will spend 15 years behind bars

A house robber was sentenced to 15 years imprisonment when he appeared in the Brakpan Magistrates Court for house robbery.

On August 8, 2003, a house robbery occurred at a residence in Umkomaas Street, Dalpark.

A firearm, R20 000 in cash, jewellery, a music centre and clothing were stolen.

The suspect was linked to the crime by means of fingerprints that were obtained on the scene.

After further investigation, it was found that the suspect is already serving a sentence for housebreaking and theft.

On Friday, June 5, Sprite Mokgabudi (39) was sentenced to 15 years imprisonment.

The court also ordered that eight years of the sentence imposed will run concurrently with the sentence he is currently serving.

The case was successfully investigated by WO Umgau Radebe.
