There has been some confusion about the entrance fee charged at the Brakpan municipal swimming pool.

Less than a minute

Many residents flocked to the Brakpan municipal swimming pool to escape the scorching heat and to have fun in the sun. June Lister (10) was one of the many children that enjoyed the Olympic size pool.

“The swimming pool is a category B facility and swimming pools in this category are Olympic size, not heated and can cater for clubs, school level aquatic events and recreational swimming,” said spokesperson for the Metro, Themba Gadebe.

“The entrance fee therefore is R10 per person per entry,” added Gadebe.

Change is not available at the swimming pool and the public is therefore urged to bring R5, R2 or R1 coins.

“Our coin mechanism does not accept any paper notes,” explained Gadebe.
