R10-million up for grabs
Emperors Palace is pleased to welcome back the World Poker Tour (WPT) for the fifth consecutive season and, this year, a massive R10-million in winnings is up for grabs.

The classic tournament returns to the Home of Poker, with 10 events scheduled to run from October 23 to 31.
Buy-ins will range from R750 up to R50 000 and there are plenty of reasons to call people’s bluffs.
This season’s tournament will feature the usual mix of local and international players, with the hope of stacking the odds in their favour.
Earlier this year the WPT held a precursor event, “Battle of the Airwaves”, featuring local celebrities, with 5FM’s Rob Forbes, Talk Radio 702’s Aki Anastasiou and 947’s Alex Caige among the radio personalities who participated.
Poker enthusiasts can look forward to this season’s event as it promises to continue the trend of the WPT Emperors Palace Poker Classic being the biggest poker tournament in Africa.
This time around, we can look forward to poker enthusiast and local actress Shamilla Miller making headlines.
Miller graduated with a Bachelors’ degree in Film and Live performance from AFDA, where she was nominated for the award for Best Supporting Actress for her role in “Welcome to Ugly Town.”
She spent a few years moulding her craft on stage with South Africa’s legendary actors, such as David Kramer and Alfred Rietman.
This year a bevy of beauties will be descending on the Palace of Dreams, and international models and Royal Flush Girls Ivy Teves and Danielle Ruiz will be strutting their stuff, along with Miss Finland and Miss World Contestant Sara Yasmina Chafak.
An entry into event three in the series is on offer to the first person who guesses the country of her origin.
The official satellite tournaments will kick-off from October 2 to 29, with the official tournament scheduled to take place from October 23 to 31.
