End the year on a fitness high
An hour of the programme's activities will be dedicated to senior citizen fitness.

The Ekurhuleni Metro, Gauteng Department of Sports and Recreation and Virgin Active will host a Free Aerobics Marathon at Germiston Lake, on Saturday, December 12.
The eight-hour aerobics marathon is set to be electrifying, with qualified gym instructors from Virgin Active expected to lead participants of all ages in intense sessions, all in the name of alleviating disease, stress and obesity.
The event is a culmination of eight months of the Ekurhuleni Aerobics Marathon series, which took place on Saturday mornings throughout the region, since April.
“Through the aerobics marathon sessions we seek to promote social cohesion, while addressing the serious issue of healthy living among our citizens by encouraging them to improve their health status,” said Ekurhuleni spokesperson Themba Gadebe.
To kick-start the day, there will be a 5km fun run and walk, which is scheduled to start at 7am, at Germiston Lake.
The high paced aerobics event will begin at 9am, with stimulating Hi-Low, Kata Box and Zumba sessions.
In addition, an hour of the programme’s activities will be dedicated to senior citizen fitness.
