Weekend crime round-up

Four residential burglaries were reported on Friday.

According to information received, the following crimes were reported to Brakpan police over the weekend:

Friday – Four residential burglaries were reported.

These took place at addresses along Colliery Road in Sunair Park, Kiepersol Crescent in Dalpark, Graaf Road in Rand Collieries, and Gwarrie Avenue in Leachville.

Television sets, a games console, an amplifier, a laptop, electrical tools and truck tyres and rims were stolen.

A company in Third Road, Witpoort Estates, was burgled and lost three computers, a printer and a tablet.

An attempted burglary was reported at a home along Krinkhout Street, Dalpark.

The resident had returned home at 8.30pm to discover the kitchen door had been tampered with and broken.

Saturday – A white Isuzu truck was stolen from Mall@Carnival.

A lawnmower and weed eater were stolen from a tool shed at a property along Station Road.

Sunday – A car parked at the corner of Gardiner Avenue and Park Street was broken into.

The vehicle’s radio, a wristwatch and two pairs of tekkies were stolen.

Two thieves stole a radio from a car parked at an address along Lower Road, Minnebron.

The car’s owner was awakened by the sound of his dogs barking at about 4am and went to investigate.

He saw two men pushing his vehicle, a blue Volkswagen Jetta, out of the yard.

The resident screamed at the men and they ran away, fleeing with the radio.

The thieves damaged the vehicle’s ignition and also broke the steering wheel.
